Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word. (CC1213)
We are happy to welcome a new member of your family into the Catholic Church here at St Benedict’s. In our Parish we celebrate Baptisms every Sunday at 11.30am and 12.30pm (EXCEPT during LENT). Parents are asked to meet with Father who will discuss baptism with these families (please ring the parish first to book in). We ask that you book your child’s baptism in plenty of time, as we are often booked out for months ahead.
